A stunning 19th century French Gilt-Bronze and Champlevé Enamel Four-Glass Mantel Clock, of exceptional quality, this richly ornamented four-glass mantel clock is housed in a finely cast gilt-bronze case decorated throughout with elaborate champlevé enamel panels in vibrant tones of cobalt blue, turquoise, ruby, and white. The case surmounted by an urn finial and flanked by reeded columns with Corinthian capitals, each inset with enamelled bands of scrolling foliage.
The circular gilt dial with raised Arabic numerals, enamelled centre and bezel, and matching pendulum featuring conforming floral champlevé decoration. The eight-day movement strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell.
