A refined pair of early 19th-century neoclassical pier mirrors, each surmounted by a crisply carved eagle crest flanked by scrolling foliage and rosettes. The rectangular giltwood frames are finely beaded and divided horizontally by a central rail, typical of the Regency and Federal periods. The original mercury glass plates are divided into two sections, echoing Palladian design influences.

Condition: Very good antique condition. Minor losses to gilding in places with some surface wear consistent with age. Glass plates are original, showing attractive, even foxing characteristic of aged mercury glass.
