A stunning 18th century Furstenberg porcelain model of a Partridge, in the form of a tureen, the head and body separating to reveal a dished interior, standing on a foliate base with strawberries, incised 'F' to base.

On 11 January 1747, Duke Charles I ordered the creation of the porcelain manufactory in Fürstenberg. FÜRSTENBERG was the second porcelain manufactory to be founded in the German-speaking world which is still producing porcelain today. For the first time, mankind succeeded in porcelain series production.
