A Regency period mahogany canterbury by Gillows of Lancaster, the upper section with X-form adjustable dividers terminating in finely turned roundels, forming four divisions for sheet music or folios. The slatted supports are crisply turned and pivot from a central boss, allowing adjustment as required.

The lower section fitted with a single frieze drawer, retaining its original keyhole escutcheon and set with a bold turned rosette knob. Raised on square-section corner uprights surmounted by turned finials, the body stands on elegantly turned and tapering legs terminating in original brass caps and castors.

The drawer stamped "GILLOWS"

Condition: Richly figured mahogany throughout with excellent colour and patina.
