A magnificent & most unusual French marble figural globe clock, the spherical shaped case forming the dial with applied Roman numerals, and arrow hands supported by three dancing putti on cylindrical half column pedestal with applied ribbon tied floral mounts raised on a re-entrant shaped base with a wreath border and corresponding toupie feet, the brass twin train movement with outside count wheel striking on a bell. The movement stamped Vincenti et Cie.

Jean Vincenti started his clockmaking workshops before 1823 in Montbeliard, France but went bankrupt a year later, whereupon the clock manufacturer Roux took on the management on his behalf, making the roulant blancs (rough movements) for clockmakers to finish and use.

Vincenti died in 1834 with the clockmaking business that he started continuing to win numerous awards including the Medaille d’Argent (silver medal) in 1855.
